2011 Salsa El Mariachi 29er

So Colonel did a blog on this bike a while back, but this hardtail has really caught my eye and is totally worthy of another shout out. The El Mariachi 29er offers up a solid ride that is nimble on tight switchbacks and super stable on fast descents. It's an all around great bike for someone who's looking for a steel frame hardtail for under two grand. Salsa calls the color of this frame "Charcoal Briquette". Don't let the name fool you though, the color is far from plain. It has an awesome metallic finish that sparkles in the sun.

Orbea bikes @ Freestone Nationals

Me and Sully were down in Wortham TX for the Freestone National motocross races and spotted a couple of Orbeas in the pits. The 2011 Orca silver was "The Shocker" Davi Millsaps' warm-up bike, Davi killed out there and got 2nd overall for the day. The Alma 29er was out on display at the Muscle Milk rig. Also pictured is the lovely Erin Bates.
