Solavaca Cat Claw re-cap

Colonel's Bikes sponsored the 2010 TMBRA Solavaca race, and we had a full crew of racers in green and orange. The pro-open category started at 8:30 A.M. and Scott Henry let everyone know that he was not playing games. The start was crazy fast with elbows flyin' into hips and ribs. We hit the first climb with some insane speed(faster than I expected) that began the "weed out" process. With a few rock gardens, creek crossings, a few steep climbs and open fields for all out speed, the course was suited for riders of all levels. The finish was tight between the 4 riders that I spent most of my moto with. I ended up 10th in my first pro-open XC race. All in all, it was a great day for mtb racing.

Thanks to Mac for the hospitality, and to Jeff Wooten for the wonderful photos.

Yes, there was a single speeds category, and they are amazingly fast! If you were out there racing, you would know this! LOL. Come out to the next race!
