Bike of the Week

We run things pretty loose here at Colonel's so it's no surprise the "Bike of the Week" is making it to the blog a day late, but here it is. It's a medium Giant Boulder SE that we have added an Xtracycle FreeRadical kit to. The bike itself sells for $410, the Xtracycle sells for $499, and our labor charge to install the kit is $100. We normally sell it as a package deal for $949, but this week get it all for $799.

Bike of the Day (V 2.0- Bike of the Week!)

After much discussion around the shop we have decided that "Bike of the Day" doesn't give you the customer enough time to jump on a good deal so we are going to change it to "Bike of the Week". The same basic rules apply except we are changing the time frame to be opening time on Monday (when the bike will be posted) until the close of business on Saturday. So this weeks bike is a 2008 Orbea Ora 48cm with Ultegra derailleurs and Mavic Aksium Race wheels. Normally selling for $2900, get it this week for $2200.

The "Super Loop"

I know that we are all bummed out about not being able to ride Sansom Park, but if you need to get your dirt fix then look no further than Gateway Park. I've put together a loop that will take the rider from Colonel's to Gateway, and then way up North to Sansom. There are some stretches of road that takes riders through some "rougher" parts of town and through some of the nicest areas. I don't have a "g.p.s." map for the ride, but it's pretty simple.

Start by heading to Gateway on the Trinity Trail (using as much dirt path as possible), ride the 3.75 mile loop then get back on the T.T. and head to Oakhurst Scenic. Oakhurst will "t" with Watauga, take a left. Pass under I35 then go left onto Cold Springs and take the first right at Brennan Avenue. Head left on Decatur down to 23rd and head to the Stockyards. On the right you'll find a walking path that takes riders/pedestrians under Main st., this trail will dump out at 26th. Go West(left) on 26th all the way to Azle avenue and take a right. Ride on Azle avenue up to Roberts cut-off, then head west to Sansom park. After you hit up Sansom, go down Roberts to White Settlement and take a right. The T.T. will be on both sides of the river, so pick one side and head back to the shop or head up Burton hill and take the "inner loop" back to the T.T. @ 183.

I hope that this isn't very confusing. I am using this route a couple of times a week, so let me know if you want to join up on a nice long ride. And when the weather starts to warm up we should be able to ride Sansom park again, but for now this is a good route to get some great miles in and enjoy different parts of Ft. Worth.

Our New Thing----- "Bike of the Day"

We here at Colonel's are implementing something new for the cycling public. We are calling it "Bike of the Day". Here's how it works. Each morning we are open(Mon.-Sat.), we will post up a super sweet deal on a bike we have here in the shop. These bikes will usually be previous year models, one-offs, demos, team bikes, employee's bikes, etc.. Now, I'm not all that in to rules but, here are the rules: 1)The "Bike of the Day" price is good from the time of listing until midnight of the day listed. For example, if the "Bike of the Day" is something you want to purchase, simply come in, call, email(email after hours is cool if it's before midnight) that day and you will get the deal. 2) All extras, including accessories, parts, and shipping are not included in the deal. 3) All sales tax collected on the item where applicable. That's it.
Bike of the Day for 2/3/10 is this 2009 Giant Defy 3, size medium, usually $810.00, Now $599.00. Come and get it!
